Ghana’s highlife legend, Amakye Dede has involved in a terribly fatal accident on New Year ’s day which claimed his manager and longtime friend, Isaac Yeboah’s life.
An eyewitness, Prince Yeboah said the accident happened at about 1:00am on New Year day, as Amakye Dede was getting ready to perform at a place called Paradise, few meters away from the popular Linda Dor Restaurant.
The Ghanaian highlife veteran nicknamed ‘Iron Boy’, was reportedly in his car changing his apparel, whiles his bodyguard and manager stood by his car, when another car crashed into them due to a break failure.
The late Isaac Yeboah who was also the editor of the P&P entertainment newspaper died in the accident.
According to snippets of information, the accident occurred at the Bonsu Junction in the Eastern Region.
The musician was billed to perform at Paradise, a ten-minute drive from the junction. The highlife maestro Amakye was yet to perform at the venue and had taken his car to change for the show.
While in the vehicle, a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter bus rammed into the musician’s vehicle. Isaac Yeboah and the musician’s bodyguard were standing in front of the car chatting at the fateful moment, according to eyewitness.
The driver of the Sprinter bus had tried unsuccessfully to overtake other cars and unfortunately smashed into the vehicle of Amakye Dede who has sustained serious head and body injuries.
Amakye Dede has been stabilized at an unnamed hospital where he is currently receiving treatment.
