The Commercial Manager for British Airways, Kevin Leung, has urged various institutions and companies to take advantage of BA’s ‘On Business’ loyalty scheme that allows businesses to earn points on flights booked with British Airways and its partner airlines.

He made the call at the 3rd edition of the Extra and Co-Curricular Education (ECCE) Expo in Accra.

“On Business is an online provision for small and medium-sized businesses including schools that allow them to access several benefits such as free flights, discounts and upgrades. The best part is that it is easy and free to sign up and use,” said Leung.

The British Airways, supporters of ECCE 2015, showcased products developed for children including BA’s activity packs and on-board meals.

A Ghanaian internet service provider also provided free Internet service during the two-day event to enable guests experience their product. They believe encouraging Ghanaian children to become the best in all they do cannot be done successfully without providing the needed tools which includes super-fast internet to facilitate e-learning.

The two-day event which took place on 2 and 3 October involved several exhibitors from various sectors including book publishers, recreational centres, manufacturers, health and safety, and culture.

It focused on the re-evaluation of basic education in Ghana, beyond the normal school classroom and timetable. Organisers of the event speaking on the theme said in order to promote quality education in the country, there is a need to draw out and develop children’s innate skills and abilities to enable them identify what they are best at while remaining competent in other areas.

In her keynote address, H.E Mrs. Matilda Amissah- Arthur advised both teachers and parents to be responsible towards children in their care to ensure that they do well academically and are also able to fit into society.

She urged both parties to engage children in creative activities to support learning and physical development. She believes this holistic approach will address all aspects of their life.
