MTN Ghana is providing 60% discount on voice, SMS & data services to pilgrims of this year’s Hajj.
The package, according to the network service provider is available to all prepaid and postpaid MTN customers roaming in Saudi Arabia on Mobily (Etisalat) and Saudi Telecom Company (STC) networks.
Speaking on the new offer, Noel Ganson, Acting Chief Marketing Officer at MTN Ghana, said, “This year, in line with our vision to lead the delivery of a bold new digital world to our customers, we are giving the pilgrims a package to stay connected with family and friends, not only with voice and SMS, but also with data.
We understand the financial implications of this all-important pilgrimage, and we hope this offer will help to reduce the financial burden, while helping them to stay connected with loved ones back home.”
Mr Ganson expressed MTN’s gratitude to the Muslim community, especially the National Hajj Board for partnering with MTN to develop meaningful offers for Mecca pilgrims over the past five years.
According to him, as a result of this collaboration, MTN continues to design packages that suit the lifestyles of the pilgrims.
MTN has been supportive of the Muslim community over the years. For the past eight years, the company has consistently donated cash, food items, drinks and airtime to the National Chief Imam during the celebration of the Eidul Fitr festival.
It has also supported the National Hajj Board annually with phones, airtime and other items to aid in their organization of the annual pilgrimage. MTN has also maintained its presence at the Hajj village to interact and engage with the pilgrims.
